Instead of spending $200 million to renew the Charleston County garbage incinerator, the Sierra Club has a better idea; how about eveybody get it in their head to do some honest recycling and cutting down on consumption & waste so we can pass this big blue marble on to the next generation?

I have to tell you from first hand experience that it makes a huge difference. Here at home, we recycle all plastic, glass, cardboard, aluminum cans, food cans, & paper. Heck, I even pull the plastic window out of envelopes when recycling the paper. Now, you may not be that interested in recycling, but every little bit helps. It sure makes use of all those plastic storage bins I had stacked up in the corner of the garage.

And you wouldn’t believe how much recycling has cut down on our garbage. Heck, there’ve been several times when I didn’t even roll the garbage out because there was hardly anything in it, and we only eat out once every 2 weeks or so!

We compost everything too, but to be honest, with just the two of us, it’s only good for one batch of dirt per year, but it’s still the right thing to do; just be sure to wear a good mold mask!
