All-Electric, Zero-Emission 50 MPH Jetski!

Barrett Taylor has a slogan on his ECO Jet Ski website, to “RIDE WHERE NO ONE ELSE CAN” – I don’t exactly understand why they claim that, except for the fact that you could ‘sneak’ up on somebody with one of these things, but whatever the reason, 50 MPH with no emissions or noise sounds pretty awesome to me!

In this short video, you can hear the still-not-for-sale ECO Jet Ski a little bit, but it gives a good idea of the sound level and acceleration you can expect to get from an all-electric jetski.

You can also read how noxious jetski fumes overwhelmed the founder and other Ironman swimmers – causing Barret to look into the cleaner technology – on his ECO Watercraft website. Enjoy!

btw: I’d love to hear from somebody that has an electric jetski – are you happy with it?

UPDATE: The little water rocket will go for $32,000 when it goes into production in 2011. [src]

What happened to the Thunderstar? My son and I have been going deep sea fishing for years. Is there another Deep sea fishing boat in that area. What I have found is much to expensive for us, $400.00 for two hours. We were paying $75 each for all day.

Hi Matt. The Thunderstar – along with several shrimp boats – have had to leave Shem Creek because of fuel prices, and the small catches recently.

DNR officials say shrimp are out there, you just need to know where to catch them – a long tale for any fisherman indeed!

Here’s a video of Thunderstar pulling out of Shem Creek for the last time this past October: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qejfeuhy1L8

For more info, check thunderstarfishing.com, but last time I checked, it was down, so G/L.

What do you think about that?
